T. Michael Phillipson
Michael Phillipson advises dealership, leasing, manufacturing, restaurants, service and insurance industry clients on financial, management and tax matters.
Education
Born in Altadena, California, Mike attended St. John’s Seminary College for two years before deciding to pursue a business career. His studies at Mt. San Antonio College were interrupted by three years in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. After his honorable discharge, Mike completed his A.A. at Mt. San Antonio College and transferred to California State Polytechnic University, Pomona where he received his B.S. in accounting in 1974. To finance his education, he worked full time for Mattel, Inc. in the City of Industry processing payroll and controlling finished goods inventory.
Experience
Mike started his public accounting career in September 1973. Before joining Parke, Guptill & Company, LLP as a Staff Accountant in August 1977, he spent four years in that capacity with two Southern California CPA firms. In 1978 Mike was promoted to Supervisor and, in June 1986, to Manager. He became a Partner in December 1988 and Managing Partner in October 2003.

Mike is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the California Society of CPAs, Ontario Chamber of Commerce, and is a Business Alliance member at California State University, San Bernardino, CA.
Community Involvement / Personal Interests
Mike and his wife Cindy are both supportive of the Assistance League of Pomona Valley. Claremont residents, the Phillipsons have two adult children, Michael and Alina. Mike keeps physically fit by exercising. He relaxes by reading for pleasure, enjoys boating and riding personal water craft, and spending time with granddaughter, Morgan.
